Privacy

To complete before launch: the legal entity that operates Designer Shortcuts, its registered address, and — if that entity is in the UK or EU — whether a data protection representative is required. Everything else on this page is accurate to what the software actually does.

The short version

Your artwork never leaves your machine. The tools run inside Illustrator on your own computer. Designer Shortcuts does not upload, copy, read or transmit your documents, your links, or anything you make with them. There is no cloud processing step, because there is no cloud processing.

There is no tracking pixel and no advertising network on this website or in the desktop app, and nothing here profiles you. The app does keep a count of how it is used — that a tool ran, which tool it was, and the Windows and Illustrator versions it ran on — kept as running daily totals. No identifier is stored with them, so a count cannot be traced back to you, your account or your machine.

What we store, and why

• Your email address — so you can sign in, and so we can send receipts and account notices.
• Your subscription status — plan, renewal date and whether it is active, so the app knows what to unlock.
• One device record — an identifier, the machine name and the platform of the computer currently signed in. This is what makes the one-machine-at-a-time licence work, and what lets us tell you which machine is connected.
• Support correspondence — if you email us, we keep the email.

That is the whole list. We do not ask for your name, your company, your job title or your address, and payment card details never reach us at all.

Who processes it

• Google Firebase — authentication, the account database, and hosting for this site.
• Lemon Squeezy — the merchant of record for every purchase. They take the payment and hold the card details; we receive only the subscription status.

How long we keep it

Account and subscription records are kept while your account exists, and afterwards for as long as tax and accounting rules require. Ask us to delete your account and we delete the account record; the invoice history held by the merchant of record is kept for the statutory period.

Your rights

Email us and you can have a copy of everything on the list above, a correction to any of it, or the whole account deleted. There is no form and no waiting queue.

Cookies and local storage

Signing in stores an authentication token in your browser so you are not asked for a password on every page. That is a functional necessity rather than tracking, and there are no advertising or analytics cookies to accept or refuse.
